Business case
In the mental health space, we’ve seen an increase in data of global suffering post covid-19. Approximately 792 million people are suffering from mental health that spreads across all ethnic, social, economic and age groups. This is costing the economy approximately $1
Trillion of annual lost wages, and lost productivity as a result.
In mental health, the current treatment options are podcasts, workshops and offline psychologist / psychiatrist visits. The first two can only support in bringing awareness, and therefore do little to solve or prevent suffering from mental health.
The latter can be costly and face resistance due to the taboo that still surrounds mental health.
Tackle and Talk has a vision and mission to end the suffering from mental health by providing the safe space and privacy with the use of technology to get the help you need, without fear of social pressure to suck it up and “be a man” or “that’s life and deal with it”, all within the comfort of your home and at your own convenient time. Our primary target geography is GCC countries, starting with Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (‘UAE’). According to a recent global study, the Middle Eastern region suffers from the highest rates of depression, anxiety disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (‘PTSD’) and suicide. Furthermore, there is a lack of awareness about mental health, limited mental health services, and stigmatization which worsens the situation.
Recent research publications of McKinsey and PwC show that GCC countries need to
prioritize mental health in the workplace. More specifically, the UAE published its national strategy for wellbeing 2031. The strategy aims to make the UAE a world leader in quality of life through a number of strategic objectives and initiatives highlighting the UAE
government’s focus on the citizen’s wellbeing, which includes promoting good mental health and adopting positive thinking.
